The Pleasure Principle - Working in the Library

Created by Patricia 8 years ago
I worked with Duncan in the late 70s- early 80s [?] and one of our shared work places was the infamous Deptford Library where work took second place to pleasure! Duncan was very popular right from the start, especially with the female staff not only because of his good looks but also because of the way he used his biting and acerbic wit with such ease and subtlety. One could never be sure if you'd just been insulted or not! Duncan was great fun to work with and on evenings out with work colleagues he put up with encouragement to drink copious amounts of alcohol til the early hours with great aplomb and tolerance.
A nice guy to the end, even years after I left the library service, when I bumped into Duncan at the library in Deptford , we'd chat and it always felt like the old times.
So sorry to hear the news.
